Chez Toast or Toast Haus

Toast is the most from coast to coast - and this is his Blog! You'll be witness to various insignificant musings. Please take them all with a grain of salt... or curry.

Movies and papers
Go see Flags of Our Fathers. Very well done. More than just another war movie. Best (or worst depending on your point of view) thing is that it's true.

Got a chance to hang out with my sister for a bit this weekend while she was home. And my brother cut his hair off. And Little's sister is preggers. And I got a history paper back tonight and I got a 95 on it. Hooray.

Good to see you again Lloyd Wow - I haven't updated in a while... where to start?

School - I finished last semester with two A's (that made the dean's list - how wierd is that?) which brought my cumulative GPA to 2.97 - I need a 3.0 to apply for the Hope Grant - so there's motivation. I am taking 2 history classes this semester and am enjoying the slightly more relaxed pace of a full semester as opposed to the summer semester.

Motorcycle Been riding as much as possible. Dad and I have taken quite a few rides. Even got the guys from work and dad together to go ride with a bunch of guys from the Concours Owner's Group and had a nice time. One of my coworkers dumped his bike in a turn but walked away unscathed and not too much damage to the bike. Testament to riding your own ride and not trying to catch up to people who are riding faster than your abilities.

Love life Little and I have been together a year. We took a weekend trip up to Tellico Plains/Cherokee National Forest in TN a few weeks ago. Had a very nice time. What a lovely area. Nice motorcycle roads. I can't wait to be able to ride with her on the bike with me. Should be lots of fun to take overnighter trips to various places.

Hobbies I started selling a bunch of stuff on ebay yesterday. This wave of stuff is made up of higher end statues and busts etc... It should bring in about $1,000 or so - which will help me afford some things I need without putting me farther in debt. It's been kind of hard to make the decision to sell them but... life comes in phases and I think the Star Wars collecting phase is over for me. I still will keep my Darth Vader stuff - but everything is pretty much fair game (except for the things I had as a kid).

Silliness Go to Youtube and do a search for "Toast sings" - should be a video of me singing "Unchained" by Van Halen at a local karaoke thing... long story short. There is a place locally that has something called Metalsome Thursday. They have a talented 80's hair metal cover band come in and play the music and people get up and sing with them. An open mike night of sorts. Matt (http://lifesinstructionmanual.blogspot.com/) and I went and did it and I have to say it took more balls for me to do that than just about anything else in my life. I wasn't drunk at all. Matt went first. I was cheering him on until I realized about half way through his song that I was next... then my ass puckered up so tight that I think I permanently damaged myself... Anyway, I know what they mean about crowd energy onstage. The crowd was into it and it was the scariest "rush" I have ever done before. Don't know that I would do it again... you are totally exposed up there. I can see why musicians take drugs... to hide behind! It's also amazing how much different it is to sing a song that you know by heart but without a vocal track to go along with you. I sound good in my car... as long as David Lee Roth is singing with me. It's amazing how much he helps me though :) Anyway, what a hoot!

That's about all I can think of right now...
